Making Faces is a brand new documentary series which looks at the work of the Maxillofacial Prosthetic Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The programme will follow the work of the team there, as they help patients who require a facial prosthetic due to illness, accident or a birth defect. The hospital's elite team of highly skilled surgeons and prosthetics experts are the busiest and best in the country. They are the only unit to work with military patients and the only unit to receive emergency trauma cases from all over Britain. Shot over the course of five months, we follow the unit as they rebuild faces destroyed by disease and injury, and find out more about their amazing work.
