Farm Kings: Season 3, Episode 3

3 - 3:

If there’s one thing the boys of Freedom Farms know, besides how to farm, it’s how to stay fit – thanks in large part to the farm fresh veggies they put out every year. In order to spread their knowledge of eating right and staying healthy, Joe tasks Lisa and Bitty with running a fitness competition to inspire Freedom Farms’ loyal customers to buy local and eat right. The month-long event will kick off at the home market with a weigh-in and initial analysis of the customers’ eating habits. It also involves a healthy cooking class hosted by Lisa herself. Of course, a diet full of Freedom Farms produce will go a long way in keeping these customers on track, but who will win top prize? And can Lisa convince Joe to participate as well as a little added motivation? Meanwhile, Lisa has been asking for a new greenhouse on her property for several years, and she’s finally convinced the boys to give her one. The problem is, with her gardens so fully grown in she doesn’t have much room to put one on her land, so Tim takes matters into his own hands – if she can’t spare the land for the greenhouse, maybe using an existing building will do the trick – her attached garage. While Lisa is helping out with the Weight Loss Challenge, Tim and Dan will take over her property to convert her garage into a temperature-controlled enclosure attached to her house. While the convenience and added growing space will be nice, after she sees the immense amount of work they need to put into it, including ripping the roof off and laying plastic over the existing joists, to laying a new concrete foundation, Lisa may realize she’s in for more than she anticipated.
