The BAU is asked to identify a long distance serial killer, or a sniper, who is shooting at victims in broad daylight, and the team works with local law enforcement officers to recreate one of the shootings. Meanwhile Reid fails his gun qualification and is forced to work without a gun which becomes a problem when he and Hotch are taken hostage by the UnSub.
